Amongst the deadlines and loads of collateral work burden, doctors nowadays feel an overwhelming sense of burn out. The root cause may not always lie in the amount of work load amidst the short-staffed departments, but could be extrapolated to time management issues in getting things done. To put it more gently, how to get rid of procrastination?

In the realm of techniques that improve the managing time skills, is the famous Pomodoro technique (Figure 1) devised by Francesco Cirillo in 1980s, which includes a series of steps -removing oneself completely from distractions, dividing the workload into bite size chunks, followed by 25 minute focussed attentive work span and finally rewarding with a well-deserved break.
